Jay Jay Burridge
Throughout my career, I’ve devoted my time to ambitious, self-built large-scale artistic projects and dynamic collaborations with like-minded, creative individuals and brands.
My work transcends any single job title or discipline—it's a multifaceted approach that reflects who I am and what inspires me.
I’m unashamedly a commercial artist rather than a fine artist, a storyteller rather than an author and a creator rather than a designer.

Career Summary
After graduating from Central Saint Martins College of Art, where I gained recognition for creating 3D graffiti and full-sized toy sculptures of an F1 car and dinosaurs, I was recruited by the BBC to succeed Tony Hart as the writer and presenter of the children’s art show SMart. The show’s success led to three spin-off series, live touring shows, magazines, books, and merchandise.
After eight years at the BBC, I shifted to a freelance career in commercial art and design, while also launching my own e-commerce brand, Lucky Seven Caps. During this period, I worked with many artists, including Banksy and in 2010, held a solo exhibition in Beverly Hills, LA with the Lazarides Gallery. My show, “When Superstars Ruled The World” brought together 15 full-size sculptures of my modern-day dinosaurs as well as artworks in other mediums.
Back in London in 2012, I partnered with Jamie Oliver to co-create the Dinersaur Diner pop-up in Piccadilly Circus, which remained a hit for nearly seven years. During this time, I expanded the Supersaurs concept into a fictional universe, culminating in a six-book series, The World of Supersaurs, which was published in 2017 and is now available in 14 languages.
While the Supersaurs series is developed for television, I’ve returned to Formula 1, contributing to the design and curation of their global touring exhibition—bringing my creative journey full circle to the large-scale sculptures that first defined my career at art college.
I split my time happily between West London and Oxfordshire with my wife, Mel, and our teenage sons, Cash and Carter. Our houses are living museums and galleries, filled with art, inspiration, and wonderful curiosities collected over the course of our vibrant lives.
I am also Banksy’s Rude Copper… but that’s another story.
